An exhibition of angel and cherub dolls at The Enchanted Mansion is now on view through January 14, 2012. The major religions all have their angels, making the image a popular one for doll artists. Among the fifty dolls from the museum's collection are two by the late Louisiana artist, Larry Whitworth, and his wife Barbara: Hark, a life size-figure, and Angel with an Attitude. Others included are one-of-a-kind dolls and limited edition dolls by prominent artists and dollmakers. On loan are antique creche figures of the Madonna and the Archangel Michael. Also included are two antique cherubs from the museum's collection.
A few of our exhibits include Land of the Gazoba Fairies, Gone with the Wind and storybook characters. Angels and Cherubs |
